For a completely eye-opening arts experience, join Benita Bike’s DanceArt on Saturday, December 9, 2pm at Lake View Terrace Library, 12002 Osborne Street, Lake View Terrace. Bring your family and make an afternoon of it by visiting the Los Angeles Discovery Cube right next door! This FREE dance performance is suitable for adults, children, and seniors. It is supported, in part, by the California Arts Council, the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, and Friends of Lake View Terrace Library.
Libraries are great places to share dance and Benita Bike’s DanceArt has a long history of reaching out through dance. Now in its 37th season, this Los Angeles modern dance company knows how to introduce the soul of dance to audiences! The Company’s work stands at the crossroads of past and present, blending the music and sensibilities of the past with evocative contemporary movement.
This Lake View Terrace performance features three dances: “Pushing Time,” a quintet that pulses dramatically across the stage to the unusual sounds of modern organ music, “For Rose,” a meditation on death and loss, and “Old Postcards from Europe” which takes its inspiration from three late 19th/early 20th century postcards from the cities of Munich, Vienna, and Budapest.
