Dancing at the Library

Lake View Terrace Library
12002 Osborne Street
Los Angeles CA United States

October 13   2:00pm-3:30pm   Free

Benita Bike’s DanceArt opens its 38th season of dance with an eye-opening dance performance on Saturday, October 13, 2pm at the Lake View Terrace Library, 12002 Osborne Street, Los Angeles, 91342. See some great dancing and learn more about the dance art form! Make an afternoon of it by visiting the Discovery Cube next door and then strolling over to see some beautiful dancing at the Lake View Terrace library! This FREE dance performance is suitable for adults, children, and seniors, and is supported, in part, by the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department and Friends of Lake View Terrace Library.

Libraries can open the world up to us, not only with books, but with live performance. Benita Bike’s DanceArt, an LA-based modern dance company knows how to introduce the soul of dance to audiences. Now in its 38th season, this Los Angeles modern dance company is passionate about sharing dance with people in their communities in non-conventional spaces.

This Lake View Terrace Library performance features three dances:
- Schoenfield Dances – high energy quintet featuring a rag, fughetta, shuffle, and boogie;
- On Beat 3 - short and snappy with driving rhythms & colorful off-balance movements;
- In the Garden – “…In The Garden was an intriguing work that has matured very well.” (Jeff Slayton, LA Dance Chronicle).
