The smiling void of night that engulfs me, even overtakes my sanity at times, and can never be measured...endured, or ignored; has once again reared it's ugly head. To stare into it's deep dark holes, the eyes to a soulless entity that knows no passion yet is very familiar with everything about me is like staring into the pit of the universe (seeing no end in sight). This being, this creature of the dark, no matter how scarey, how gruesome of a being...is just the reflection of what I see. Like when gazing into a puddle of water on the concrete right after a deep heavy rain, or when I close the medicine cabinet door to shave in the mornings, and I catch that first glimpse of the image staring back at me?

Here I sit, I stare, I wonder, I vegetate, and all the while the same can be said for this shadow that breathes and lives within me. The more I curse it's presence, the more I see within myself. My whole being is captivated by it, feels for it, and is driven to feed it then suddenly and without warning, feeding off of it. This thing, this erie example of a life form,...is merely my creativity (at times). The mirror to what lies beneath the smile and the intellect of reason and humanity, the dark side of my passion,

...it is my soul!
