Discreet Messages is my way of pointing out to the curious that we are surrounded by verbiage that just may be significant to someone. These messages aren't your everyday graffiti but words that I believe street artists intentionally create for individuals who are searching for humor or guidance. In the seven years I have lived in NYC I have spent many days taking photos in the streets where I have often been stopped by typographical art which both catches my eye and empowers me within. Having captured these images with my camera, I would like to share some of my visual moments with others. In some circumstances, the voices of others are found in such places that documenting their words is simple; in others, I have captured their messages in a style that enhances the impact of their statements. Although the original messages are not my creation, my goal is to record and archive the work of these anonymous artists so that others may be able to enjoy their contributions to our communities.
