Visiting Position in Arts Management (Claremont Graduate University)
The Masters in Arts Management Program of Claremont Graduate University, the only program of its kind in California, seeks an outstanding artist, arts manager or academic who is a thought leader in the field for a visiting appointment in arts management in 2011 – 2012. This is a special opportunity for a practitioner or scholar in the field to create a residency or project of their own design that will invigorate the more than 40 students in the Arts Management program. The appointment may be part-time (one semester) or full time (both semesters) based on the proposal submitted. It is anticipated that the visiting artist, arts manager or scholar will teach a practicum, in addition to conducting research or work that will further his or her own practice working in conjunction with the graduate students in the program. The successful candidate will be expected to advise and mentor arts management students relative to their careers and issues in the art world. Activities may also include special seminars or colloquia and participation in department and university functions. However, it is expected that the selected candidate will play a key role in shaping the specific activities that will constitute the residency.
