A leading luxury skincare brand is seeking a highly motivated Web Developer for immediate hire.
Working in our NYC office, your primary objective is to lead localization of the global site platform for the North American market and provide ongoing development support for maintaining and enhancing ecommerce website, as well as IT functions and project work.
Key Responsibilities:
The immediate project is the localization of our global platform for the US market. Global site utilizes PHP-MySQL-Magento for the product catalog and PHP-MySQL for the remainder of the site. Candidate must have experience with all aspects of localization process including but not limited to the following:
- Integration with fulfillment center
- Integration with payment gateway
- Set up server environment
- Google Analytics tagging and custom report creation
- SEO (page tagging, search-optimize global site)
- Modifications to global platform for US market as needed (currency, contact information, copy etc)
- Enhancements to global platform for US market as needed (navigation adaptation, addition of transversal pages, Blog etc)
- Site QA Testing (including cross browser / OS testing)
- Build CMS tool (at launch of following launch)
- Serve as technical contact for global team

Ongoing Responsibilities
- Site updates including homepage animation and features, new product additions and product modifications, ratings&reviews, section updates (spa pages, careers, where to find us, press, events, blog, diagnostic tool, samples, promotions, related products etc
- Email campaigns ( coding, testing, deployment, database management and segmentation)
- CRM including specialized content integration, new features/functionality, database management and segmentation
- Custom Facebook tab development
- Leverage technology for continuous improvement of web platform capabilities to enhance usability and performance
- Work with e-commerce manager to implement new and existing technologies to site and email campaigns to ensure competitive advantage
- Implement new site features and functionality including social (facebook connect/like feature), interactive modules etc.
- Monitor site performance and develop ongoing quality assurance tests

Skills Summary:
Essential technical skills, software and environment control:

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar with a minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience
- Concrete examples of work (personal or professional).
- Extensive direct experience with website localization
- Critical languages: HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Ajax
- Strong experience with MySQL
- Photoshop and Flash
- Experience with Windows and Linux
- Experience with Zend / Magento
- Understanding of Miva merchant a plus
- Server administration
- Google Analytics (tagging / custom reports)
- Development experience with Open Source CMS Platforms, Blogs highly preferred.
- Mobile experiences a plus (mobile websites, mobile campaigns, app development)
- SEO, knowledge of advertising delivery systems a plus.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget
- Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
- Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in web design.

Additional technical skills, software and environment control:
- Good network knowledge
- MAC environment

- Fluent in French
