More About Me
I believe in
The other day, my friend Shawn and I were joking around about something I don't remember and I said (pretending to be God): "Even though you don't believe in me, Andrew, I'm behind you all the way." Then My friend Shawn said (also pretending to be God): "That's because I believe in you!" I thought that should go on a bumper sticker: "I don't believe in God, but he believes in me."
If I could be anything or anyone for a day, I would be
I wish it was possible to be female just for a month, to see what it's like. I don't think people realize just how different it would be if everything about you were the same but your sex; I imagine it's a lot like being a totally different animal.
Last great book I read was
I've actually been a bit obsessed with the Harry Potter books lately. And by "obsessed," I mean I stay up all night reading them. I'm tearing through the sixth one now. Since I don't watch broadcast TV, I think these books are taking in my own life the role that TV would play in others'.
Best or worst lie I've ever told
Instead of leaving this blank, I think it's important to say that I am still not in a place where I can openly admit in a public forum the worst lie I've ever told.
Most humbling moment
Until answering that last question, it was being an indie musician in New York City.
The things I can't live without
A pen and paper, a guitar, my voice, food, iced-tea, wine, and sleep.
My favorite footwear
Me favorite footwear is barefoot.
My idea of a perfect Sunday morning is
Sleepling late, having sex, then cooking and eating a satisfying and leisurely breakfast.
If I could be anywhere right now, it would be
What's wrong with where I am?
My favorite restaurants
There's this awesome Indian restaurant on the Upper West Side called Calcutta Cafe. They have an all-you-can-eat buffet Sunday nights. It costs ten bucks and it includes wine. The food is beyond real.
A perfect meal
I like many kinds of foods. The perfect meal, however--no matter what I'm eating--would have me simultaneously moaning in ecstacy and stuffing my face.
Music in my playlist
I don't have a "playlist" because I still use CDs and records--though I do download.
At a party, I am most likely to be
At parties, I like to move around. I never stay in one place long because I get excited by all the conversations I hear and usually want to talk with the people having them. All of this, of course, is assuming the party is made of people I like or want to like. Otherwise, I'm not at the party. For me, people make or break a party; it doesn't matter where I am or what there is--so long as the people are good, the night can go anywhere.
What's more important - the journey or the destination?
It depends: if you're on a long roadtrip, sometimes you just need to get your ass there; if you're on a rambling, ambling drive, then who cares where you end up?
Similarly: I have career goals which I am driven to achieve and the raod to reaching them can be hell or really fucking fun.
One thing I'd like to do before I leave this earth
Leave a permanent mark.
Why you should get to know me
Because you want to.
Who and what I'm looking for
People who aren't bored by everything I've written so far.
