My figurative paintings are composites of moments in time. Images are gathered through observational drawing and photography. Compositional studies are developed utilizing drawing and the computer. Some moments are staged while others are gathered strictly from every day life. Different observations and moments in time collide to create tension. Through juxtaposition images develop new meaning. These paintings interpret psychological and three-dimensional space. The psychological interpretations are realized through dramatic compositions, altered space, and the use of color. Three-dimensional space is conveyed using a play of shapes, rhythms, and repetitions.
