My Vision of Peace
On Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans Big Chief Alfred Doucette debuted his "Peace Suit." Words of peace were carefully sewed in the Chief's new Indian Suit in response to the city's high murder rate and even higher incarceration rate. Alfred Doucette has a true heart for the youth of New Orleans, striving to give them a sense of pride in their culture and in themselves, taking time to share the Mardi Gras Indian traditions with any child who asks or shows interest, and lives his life to make the world a better and more peaceful place. This suit is a tangible image of his soul.
