A Mother's Portrait of Peace

My Vision of Peace
My mother picked up my father's Pentax 35 mm land camera, slipped off her shoes before stepping onto the cool grass and walking a few yards away to capture the two most important people in her life; my sister and my father, quietly resting in a park in 1962.

My father was always on the other side of his camera. My mother was his favorite subject. He would capture her in the quietest of moments and she would smile for the camera because she loved and trusted the man behind the lens.

She captured peace that day. Unbeknownst to her two loving subjects. Nine children and 20 grandchildren later, she continues to share her portraits and make peace. My father's iconic 1957 Ford Fairlane that graces my first CD Welcome Home, sit's quietly in the top left corner as if standing guard over weary travelers. Searching...always searching.

Peace and light~
Rosendo

Amazing Rosendo. I keep dwelling on this. What a beautiful story.

I love the authentic edges and time-coloration you allow to be seen. Honest and more moving than if it had been retouched to erase what is fleeting and timeless.
