My Vision of Peace
This represents the Summer "Seasons of Hope Singing Tree" a series of four traveling murals. It is the vision and inspiration of the AHO Youth Task Force Team in Marin County, California, comprised of homeless and at-risk youth served by Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity. (http://www.ahoproject.org). The murals are the culmination of a year-long process where the youth Team engaged 30 private, public, alternative high schools, middle schools and colleges to bring awareness to the crisis of youth homelessness and the plight of the planet. We make peace by celebrating where we are - the mountains, the trees, the land, the animals, the flowers, the community, the leaders. This endangered live oak symbolizes the the deep peace that is available in being close to nature. The collaborative process of making the mural is a model of the world we want to live in - unity through creativity.

Medium
Over 1200 people helped to create the series of an oak tree in four seasons. The painting is acrylic, colored pencil on paper, glued onto 8' x 8' masonite boards. The driving question is "What kind of world you want to live in?" and this is the answer the young people have given - A world with abundant life, beauty and joy. It is the 28th Singing Tree, a growing forest of murals made by over 12,000 people in 50 countries, inspired when an 8 year-old girl asked "What if the whole world made a painting together?"
