My Vision of Peace
The original painting is 42" x 48". It was created to compliment a photo of a young Sudanese refugee girl by Sister Marilyn Lacy. The pieces were exhibited side by side with the text, "She grew up in a refugee camp in a remote desert along the Sudan-Kenya border. Clothed in a gunny sack, she has the beauty and dignity of a queen. What are her dreams? What will her future hold? Shimmering, swirling, it is a rosy ebullience of spirit that defines childhood. Simplicity, innocence... a promise of new beginnings."

The pieces were exhibited with the hope of building awareness and understanding of the situation of women and children returning to South Sudan and the work of Sister Lacey and her non-profit 'Mercy Beyond Borders'.

Medium
The original painting is 24" x 48" acrylic and silver leaf on canvas.
