The Peace Project

LOVE WINS. PEACE RISES.

Our 6th Annual Call for Artists celebrates equality -- one of the cornerstones of creating a world that is more peaceful for more people. It also celebrates love and those who have been working for peace and justice including all of you who have supported The Peace Project and helped us accomplish all of this (and more!) in just five years:

  • Educated dozens of children in Sierra Leone, Africa.
  • Distributed 10,000 pairs of crutches to amputees, war victims, polio survivors and mothers and children in Sierra Leone on World Peace Day, 2011.
  • Designed a Peace Museum for Sierra Leone in conjunction with the United Nations.
  • Created and produced Peace Tips, specially designed crutch tips that last one year, extend the life of crutches and greatly improve mobility for users.
  • Designed a house that can be built in less than a day and then built 40 of them (plus our first Peace Center) in the Philippines for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Our annual Call for Artists has helped to power our work -- all participating artists have our everlasting gratitude, as do our panel of judges and other partners in this project including Prints on Wood, Golden Artist Colors, Prismacolor and Digital Fusion.

peace starts here

All pieces submitted to this year's Call will be featured in the traveling exhibit on a mosaic panel like the one above -- the 120 pieces shown below will also be featured on 12" x 12" panels. The exhibit will be unveiled at our 5th Affair of the Arts on September 19 & 20 and then will travel on to Chelsea in New York on November 5 and will be back in Los Angeles on November 21. Click here for more details.

Proceeds from the Call for Artists and the Traveling Exhibit will fund initial costs for our Peace Center in Africa as well as bring skills training to our Peace Center in the Philippines and provide critical aid to Syrian refugees.

Through creativity and community, we can change the world.
