Meet your Spirit Animal

The Whole 9 Gallery
3830 Main Street
Culver City CA United States

September 23   5:00pm-7:00pm   $30

Indigenous people have traditionally used animals and animal totems to guide their beliefs and actions. Often a spirit animal shows up to protect and inform those that believe. The characteristics of one’s spirit animal can be called upon to strengthen personal resolve and light the way forward.

We invite you to join us for a sacred evening surrounded by images of animals that begins with a copal blessing followed by an interactive discussion about how animals can be brought into your life to guide and protect you. Medicine Woman Guzel Gjenasaj will then lead a guided meditation where you’ll have an opportunity to meet your spirit animal. We’ll close the evening with a sharing session that includes tea and cookies.

Guzel’s background includes growing up in Brooklyn, NY, (with a large family in a diverse urban community), environmental education, off-the-grid-living on a permaculture farm in Costa Rica, starting a communal house in Santa Monica (utilizing permaculture principles), planting food and good times, organizing events, hosting co-ed and ladies only circles, (one of those events being Cross Pollinate, which is a quarterly women's networking and empowerment gathering in Los Angeles. She has a Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology and for the last 15 years has studied different styles of breath work, yoga, attended workshops on mindfulness meditation, nutrition and cooking, compassionate communication and various healing modalities.

Guzel is an artist, a yogini, a teacher, a gardener, a cook, a medicine woman and a community leader. Her spiritual practice is rooted in Native American, Mayan and Gaia loving traditions. She is a Reiki Master and is currently attaining a Master's Degree in Transformational Psychology at the University of Philosophical Research, in Los Angeles. She believes our connection to mother earth and all her healing elements are a catalyst for deep transformation, connection and true bliss. She loves to share the wisdom and practices that she’s learned along the way. She has combined research and practical experience to provide transformative and empowering opportunities for all.

Additionally, she is a moon dancer with the Ollintlahuimetztli tradition, in Teotihuacan, Mexico, in which she is pipe carrier. She completed her 4th year commitment in 2017 and plans on going for 3 more years to carry the medicine of the sweat lodge. She received her Reiki training from a private teacher, Chris Eagle. She is attuned as a Reiki Master in the traditional Usui Reiki method. She has a space in Glassell Park and Venice for private healing sessions.
