Do you need a space to create?
The ARTErra is a rural art residency structure that support and encourage artistic creation and production. Housed in a remarkably small rural village, you will find in ARTErra physical spaces and tools for the reception of the project / proposal of the artist or collective of different artistic disciplines. In addition to a house with several recreational areas and facilities, the ARTErra has a "creation yard" area where are the work spaces (sound studio and booth capturing, studio room, black & white box, glass room and atelier) framed by a garden, a small vegetable garden, an orchard and poultry. With privileged contacts with some institutions and companies try to enhance and ensure a artist in residency to respond the needs and expectations of the projects accepted. We still have vacancies for the second half, but the contacts with our partners may not be effective in time. For more information, contact us! The application process is simple. Looking for best color lab (in LA)...
for printing photographs of intricate color and illumination. Hopefully, innovative, as well.

Comment

dangerousideas   I've had very good experiences with A&I- their prices are reasonable and they work with a lot of fine artists. Their equipment is state of the art. All the prints they've done for me have exactly matched the carefully tweaked look of my original files.

KarinLisaAtkinson   I tested many of the Los Angeles photo labs the last two years for my new series digital image file printing for my current exhibit. I chose ProLab Digital on 104th in LA (near LAX) because they produced the best test prints, which I gave the labs to print blind - so I could compare all labs results equally. ProLab scored highest on sustainability, Ultra Violet Light printing, non-toxic inks, healthy worker conditions, variety of archival museum quality sustainable substrates and mountings plus they negotiated a great price based on my budget for the exhibit. I am about to print my next series of Tests there this week. Ask for Joe Hill say you were referred by LisaA ... yes, initials LA.

What are the best econmical oil paints ? I currently use Charvin but I find they are a little pricey

Comment

noramartinhall   I don't use oil paints, however, if you ever plan to switch to Acrylics, I'm a big fan of a small company in Culver city called Nova Color. they make a great line of paints, gessos and various mediums priced very reasonably.

Beware of inexpensive products/materials/tools, if you want to create reliable, lasting artwork. I see your post is a few months dated. If you're still looking, one place to start is check out wetcanvas.com. They do product reviews and forums regarding questions such as yours. Might get a relevant heads-up there. ~DM

How did you find The Whole 9?
A few friends and my dad suggested the site to me. Curious to hear how other people came to be members!

Do you know any good digital t-shirt printers?
We'd like to get some 2012 White Peace Project t-shirts printed, but our printer hit the skids. Can you recommend any good ones?

Comment

theredhead   Culture Works has nice style and responds immediately with pricing, options, etc. www.cultureworks.com

Vistaprint does a variety of printing, not just clothing, and they are an inexpensive but solid option. www.vistaprint.com
